1. Does the Township offer Youth Baseball Leagues? The Youth Baseball and Youth Softball Leagues in Byron Township are directed by Little League, a parent run organization.
2. Does the Township offer Youth Soccer Leagues? The Youth Soccer program is directed by AYSO, a parent run organization. You can visit their website at www.byroncenterayso.org .
3. Can I pay for a recreation program with a credit card? Yes, we are able to accept cash, checks and credit cards for payments. Visa or Mastercard accepted.
4. Does the Recreation Department offer financial assistance for recreation programs? The Recreation Department is in the process of developing a Recreational Scholarship for Byron Township youth. Please contact the Recreation Department for more information.
5.What are the Recreation Department’s hours of operation? We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 9:00pm and Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm. We are closed on some holidays so be sure to call ahead at 878-1998.
6. How do I make a park or pavilion reservation? You can come into the Byron Township Recreation Office 2120 76th Street and fill out the appropriate paperwork, or download the paperwork from our website and mail it in with payment.
7. Where can I call to find out if a game or activity will be cancelled? You can call our cancellation hotline at 616-878-0623.
8. What are the hours of the new Community Center? The hours will be 7am-9pm Monday-Friday and 8am-5pm on Saturdays. Sundays are closed.
9. Do you have to be a member of the Community Center to use it? The Community Center will have different options for entry. Participants can purchase a daily pass, monthly pass or yearly pass. Memberships include access to the gym, fitness equipment, walking track and discounts on Recreational programs. Spectators will not have to pay to enter the facility but they will have to check in at the front desk. You do not have to be a member of the Community Center to participate in the programs.
11. Can I rent the new Community Center? Yes, the people in the community may rent the new facility. There are Resident and Non-resident rates for hourly rentals. The community center may be rented on Fridays and Saturdays for the first year. |
